Along the last 25 years, besides the draft of this Special Plan of Protection of the Historic Complex (1995), some different buildings have been modified: religious ones – such as the Episcopal cathedral-palace, the church of Santa María and the hermitage of San Juan –, civil ones – like the former city hospital, the House of the Comminuty, the Houses of Seo and Painters, the House of Julianeta, the houses in Chorro and San Juan streets, the Slaughterhouse (currently the Restoration Center), etc. – and defensive ones – such as the castle, the tower of Doña Blanca, the walls, etc. The works of restoration, refurbishment and highlighting for these buildings, based on the projects draft by the studio, have been mostly sponsored, developed, managed and subsequently made profitable and showcased by the Santa María de Albarracín Foundation. Consequently, the whole city and its surroundings form a heritage and landscape unit national and internationally acknowledged.
